About the WorkCover Tasmania Board

The WorkCover Tasmania Board (the Board) is a statutory entity with responsibilities under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2012.

The Board is funded through a levy on workers compensation premiums. This funding is used to discharge the Board’s functions in the areas of injury management, work health and safety, and workers compensation.

This includes initiatives that aim to reduce the incidence of work-related injury and illness in Tasmania and facilitate the early return to work of injured workers.  Some of the Boards recent initiatives include:
